The
Drama Of Phenomena
-
Chelle Thompson
Most folks love the thrill of rides at Disneyland because they whisk us away from our day-to-day realities. However, if we became amusement park junkies, would we EVER discover why we're here? We might think we're getting a "clearer" picture in a whirl high atop the Matterhorn — aren't we closer to The Source up there in the ethers — or are we simply choosing another form of escape? Eventually, the time comes for each of us to get back down to earth and deal with our issues, problems and challenges ... the "stuff" that shapes our character and charts our destinies.
If we are looking for an "easy out" rather than ways to empower ourselves and be fully present, we can flee into the ethers and avoid life whenever the going gets tough. Sometimes the magical quality of expanded growth experiences has an almost narcotic effect ... it's The Drama of Phenomena ... and may look like the long-awaited solution we've been craving.
Incredible insights can certainly be gained from a multitude of extraordinary practitioners, counselors, clergy and motivators through sessions, therapy, guidance, workshops, etc. But, will we choose people to work with who are dedicated to empowerment, or those who operate as middle men, keeping themselves or their philosophy as the "necessary link" between us and The Source? Will we use even purest arenas as our drugs of choice, trying to elude reality by "rising above it all"?
Why are we here? I believe it's to bring Goodness into form, not to pop in when everything feels good, then hide out in various modalities when the "lessons" appear. Following is a related poem that I wrote several years ago entitled "Detours"
DETOURS
Sometimes we experience slight dimensional snags ...
Like catching your sleeve on an unforeseen splinter
As you move through the passageway.
The journey's the goal, our path is the point ...
But the luxury of lesson, each excursion into mirrors,
Enlightens us along the passageway.
Detours cause us pain, changes filled with turmoil ...
Thereby evoking Questions, as precious stepping stones,
To guide us down the passageway.
Looking back at our detours, we catch the reflection ...
They made us who we are, and awakened our
Reason for Being, in the passageway.
