The
Fig Tree
-
Laura Silvana Aversano
A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. He came looking for some fruit on the tree, but he found none. So the man said to his servant who took care of his vineyard, “I have been looking for fruit on this tree for three years, but I never find any. Cut it down. Why should it waste the ground?” But the servant answered, “Master, let the tree have one more year to produce fruit. Let me dig up the dirt around it and put on some fertilizer. Maybe the tree will produce fruit next year, if the tree still doesn’t produce fruit, then you can cut it down.” (Luke 13: 6-9)
Do you not know what it is to have patience? All things manifested through Him take time to show themselves on the earth plane. It is up to each one of you to take responsibility for the fruits that God has given you; not to give to others that responsibility. How can one expect to bear fruit when one isn’t willing to take the first steps towards loving Him?
He found no fruit on the tree because he had not opened himself up to the kingdom within. He had not come to an understanding of the growth of the soul towards Godnature. The soul requires spiritual nourishment on a daily basis to survive on the earth plane. He keeps searching where he does not choose to look at his part in his soul’s experience. Remember, this is your co-creation. To deny this is to not bear the spiritual fruit deemed you upon your journey. Sometimes the spiritual life will not bear you fruit on the earth plane at the time when you think you need it most. For this, I say to you look towards patience. That which your soul needs to aspire to Him is already given to you in higher realms of the world of spirit. When you lose your attachment to thinking my Father owes you anything, you will seek to gain everything from Him. The only true thing He owes you in your language is love. Once you accept that, your earthly experience will be easier for you to come to peace with. You will ultimately be rewarded in the kingdom of my Father. When you chose to come here, He didn’t say that life would be easy. For this, I truly know. But always remember one thing about life. That life that you carry is of Him.
To cut the fig tree down in haste might prevent one from other opportunities to grow in the light of the Lord. When God is ready to share with you His gifts, know that He will do so in the appropriate time and nourishment of your soul’s potential. To awaken any possibility thus given by my Father, you must indeed learn of patience. This is a grace that the soul comes to know over time. I do not expect you to grasp the spiritual concept of patience in one lifetime.
