Journey
Of The Prince, Part 1
-
Oliver Mbamara
Some long time ago, there lived a King who ruled a Kingdom in the world of man and Spirit. He had three sons whom he loved equally. Because the King possessed eternal life, there was no chance that any of the sons would sometime become the King, but they were consoled by the fact that they would always be princes entitled to the royal blessings and qualities that the King was always willing to provide.
As time went on, the princes started taking for granted, their status as sons of the King and eventually they became lazy, selfish, lacking in creativity since there were no challenges for them in the Kingdom. Everything was at their beck and call and they therefore took everything and everyone else for granted.
The King was not impressed with the attitude of his children, so he decided on a project to make them stay useful to themselves and all others in the Kingdom. Perhaps if they were deprived of the pleasures that they were always used to in the kingdom, they would come to appreciate the freedom and blessings that abound in the royal kingdom. So early one morning, the King called his three sons together and informed them of the plan he had lined up for them.
"You will all go on a journey across the land and seas of man and spirit. You will take nothing with you except the qualities innate in you as my sons. You will be without any royal guides or aides. You will be without your royal garbs and instruments, but you will retain your abilities to call upon and use all these if you will remember your abilities as sons of the Great King Etern that I am. When you have toured the end of the universe, you will return to my kingdom wiser and more aware of your selves as children of the Great Etern that I am."
"How can we be able to tour the end of the universe with no royal guides or garbs?" One of the sons asked. "We are not used to living without these benefits how can we live them behind?" The second son asked. "What you will use in this journey will be provided to you as the need arises. You will have to earn them," the King answered. "What if we can not find the end of the universe?" the third son asked. "Then you are not ready to return. You will have the ability to change your bodies as you go along. You will experience death of the body as many times as is needed for you to get to the point in your journey where you may have learned enough to earn you a ride back home to this Kingdom." As you die and take up fresh bodies, your memories of this kingdom will remain distant until you are awake to know your way home. Until you awake, you will continue to remain in the cycle of death, birth, and rebirth," The King warned.
The King then told his sons that they will need some time to prepare and make up their mind as to what life-form they would like to take up in commencing their journeys. He then sent them to a preparatory camp in a neighboring land and provided them with some of his royal staff aides to help prepare them for the journey into the universes. Though the three sons were not so pleased with the plan the King their father had for them, one of the sons accepted the King's decision, respecting and believing in the King's wisdom. The other two were not so pleased. Instead, they decided to go as far as stirring trouble in the preparatory camp on the outskirts of the Kingdom. "Why should the King our father deprive us of our royal heritage?" They queried.
While the two rebelling sons went around the camp complaining and expressing their displeasure with the decision of the King, the third son took advantage of the provisions of the preparatory camp and acquainted himself with the possible facilities he needed to be able to thrive in his journey so as to be able to return to the Kingdom within the soonest time.
The two rebelling sons then thought of launching an attack to overthrow the King, and they started a campaign to win the support of all the staff in the preparatory camp and to convert them into an army of revolting servants. When the two sons approached the third son and asked him to join their plot, the third son refused and rather tried to discourage the other two sons from engaging in a mutiny against the King their father. He tried to convince them to accept the King's decision since the King was wiser than they can ever imagine, and must have decided on the project because he was sure it would be beneficial to all his sons. The two rebelling son's refused to adhere to the advice of the third son. "The King has lost his love for us. He is only getting rid of us," one of the other two sons insisted. "No, you are mistaken about that," the third son argued. " The King always loved us and in fact, we exist because of his love for us. If he did not love us, he would have gotten rid of us anytime and anyway he wanted, but instead, he has given us a chance to improve ourselves." The third son emphasized.
The two other sons were not happy with the stand of the third son. "You have been reading too much literature and spending too much time with the so-called preparatory lessons," One of the rebelling two sons said to the third son. "If you refuse to join us, we will count you as an enemy when we begin our revolt," the other rebelling son warned.
The two rebelling sons then went around the camp convincing some of the King's staff members to join in the revolt against the King. They made big promises and offered positions to some of the staff members who agreed to join the plot. The two rebelling sons then decided that they would start their revolt on the day that the King had decreed their journey into the universe was to begin. When that day came, the two rebelling sons called together all the members of the King's staff that have decided to join their revolt and they started by attacking the third son as they have promised. However, some members of the King's staff that were still loyal to the King came to the aid of the third son and joined him in fighting off the two rebelling sons and their team of revolting army.
The battle raged on for some time until the third son and his team got an upper hand with the help of the knowledge the third son had acquired while he prepared for the journey into the universe. At a time the other two were busy conspiring against the King and raising an army to overthrow him. The third son and his team then pursued the rebelling two sons out of the preparatory camp and sent them hurriedly fleeing into the worlds further away from the Kingdom.
To escape detection, and punishment for revolting against the King, many of those in the camp of the two rebelling sons, took life forms such as rocks, minerals, fish, and animals. While those who chose the human form decided to adopt different languages, physical structure, and skin color, which they hoped, would disguise them.
Having lost the battle, the two rebelling sons have parted ways as they fled. The second son decided to go on and forget about the King's Kingdom or to expect any stake in it. He thought that he might as well embark on the journey hoping that the King might forgive him for his delinquencies and accept him again as his son when he is ready to return to the Kingdom. He got married to one of the staff ladies that fled with him, and they moved further away into the universe having children and multiplying.
The first son continued to be recalcitrant. He managed to gather a handful of the staff that survived with him and set up his own kingdom to challenge the Kingdom of the King his father. He was angry that the second son reneged too quickly on their agreement to overthrow the King, and that some of the staff that started with him were taking life forms like rocks and animals to escape being punished for the revolt. The first son therefore assigned positions in his hierarchy to the few followers who stayed with him. He instructed them to seek out his brother, the second son, from wherever he may have gone in the universe, and to tempt and deceive him from continuing the journey. "Make it difficult for him to remember or believe in the King again," the first son instructed. He also asked some of the few followers he had left, to seek out the staff members who had turned into rocks, and to convince them to come back and join his world and continue the battle to overthrow the King.
When the King learned what had happened, he was impressed that the third son had learned a lot during the preparatory days even before the appointed day of departure into the universes. He therefore made him the head of his army and gave him the preparatory camp as the base from which he will thwart the machinations of the first son, and also attend to the needs of others in the universe from time to time. "This day, you have made yourself worthy in my eyes, and you have shown that you are my son in whom I trust," said the King. "You will embody my strength, my love, my wisdom, and my substance," He continued. "You will represent me, and from time to time, you will go forth into the universes as the Highest Consciousness to bring back those who are ready to come back to my kingdom." The King concluded.
